Report on the 1st NFDI4Energy Conference on 20. and 21. February 2024

In Hanover, Germany, energy research data management representatives convened for the 1st NFDI4Energy Conference and succesfully worked towards the conference goal of bringing the community together.

Attendees engaged in workshops, presentations, and networking sessions, that spanned over three days and were designed to foster discussion and knowledge exchange within the field.

Dr. Barbara Ebert’s keynote set the stage with insights on biodiversity data management. In the further course the conference program covered diverse topics like semantic web technology, FAIR infrastructure, and energy system modeling.

Poster sessions showcased research from sufficiency assumptions to decentralized energy storage and the Market of Consortia facilitated cross-pollination among NFDI consortia and similar organizations, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The organizers of the conference had the impression that the participants left the conference energized and inspired, ready to apply new insights and collaborations in their respective fields.

Thanks to all participants and contributors for this great event. We already look forward to the 2nd NFDI4Energy Conference, which will take place in Karlsruhe.
